Overview of Wren Day

Wren Day, known in Irish as Lá an Dreoilín, is one of Ireland's oldest traditions, with roots tracing back hundreds of years. It takes place annually on December 26th, the day after Christmas, and is celebrated in various parts of Ireland, particularly in rural areas like Kerry and Dingle.

What is a Feis?

A Feis (pronounced 'fesh') is much more than just a dance competition; it is a vibrant celebration of Irish culture and community. Dating back centuries, these gatherings were originally festivals of music, storytelling, and dance where families and artists from across the land would meet to share their heritage. Today, Feisanna remain the heartbeat of the Irish dance world, providing a stage for dancers of all ages to showcase their technical skill, dedication, and artistic expression. Participating in a Feis fosters a deep sense of pride, discipline, and cultural belonging, ensuring that the beautiful traditions of Ireland continue to thrive for generations to come through movement and shared joy.
